St. Barts lies about 160 miles east of Puerto Rico and is immediately south-east of St. Martin. The people living there are considered French citizens (as with populations in St. Martin and Guadeloupe). St. Barts has become a popular destination for the rich and famous. You can get there via ferry or a puddle jumper from St. Martin. Landing on the island via plane is not for the faint hearted!
